The culture war is definitely not over.
Phil Robertson, the outspoken patriarch of Duck Dynasty fame, has decided not to let the end of his family’s signature television reality show stop him. Oh, no. Phil will be back – this time on CRTV NOT the mamby pamby A&E Network – with a new show called “In the Woods With Phil.” This new show, on a conservative network not likely to suspend the man for quoting Scripture, will be all about Phil’s unvarnished view of life.
“For far too long we have been told to shut up. No more. Here’s the deal, America. These are my woods. Out here, I call the shots. Out here, we reject political correctness, or as I like to say, ‘pontificated crap,'” he said.
And a good portion of America says, Amen, Hallelujah and preach it.
The truth of the matter is that the signs of the left’s culture war imploding as American values come back into vogue are all around us. The wholesale rejection of the Clintons by a significant portion of the population, electing a president who does not bow to global non-government entities, Harvey Weinstein finally falling, Americans walking away from the NFL when their patriotism is insulted…it’s all part of the same Make America Great Again movement. And Phil Robertson wants to be part of it.
“Most media are ashamed of America, its values, and just has an aversion to plain old common sense,” Robertson continued. “What did I hear today? That a girl can now be a Boy Scout? The name is ‘Boy Scout.’ How hard is that to understand? If liberals and Hollywood elites are going to pressure a network and advertisers to abandon me for saying something that is common sense as ‘you need to be a boy to be a Boy Scout,’ then I am going to go where they can’t silence me. I have never been one to shut up.”
(For the record, it’s more than the Boy Scouts are creating programs for girls as the sisters of the scouts themselves prefer that format to the Girl Scouts. The Girl Scouts are imploding anyway.)
